This Shit Is Fly

Saw it. Loved it. And I guess I can file it in the Austrian Ad Landschaft series…

Superfly, based in Vienna only, caused a lot of fuzz with their campaigns  lately. “This shit is fly” and “Don’t stay at home, baby!” were quite nifty. With the latter they tried to get back at FM4 whose slogan among others is “You’re at home, baby!” FM4 must have been was ranting about that… A little birdie told me.

Also they had nice ways of establishing their brands. For instance, street branding, which I think is pretty genious.

Don’t Follow Me I’m Lost Too

Here’s a little mash-up I did with my new FM4 button. I added some photoshop to the original image and that’s what it resulted in.

Update: Ironically, I lost this button!

Fake Steve Jobs, Planet Blog & Co

Fake Steve Jobs gives quite an interesting view on the Web 2.0 bubble (at the Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco) that according to new Internet giants isn’t gonna burst – not this time – not again. This video is 25 minutes “you’ll never get back”, but is highly recommended. Witty sense of humor and good stories. I had to laugh out loud several times. More on the Web 2.0, after the jump.

What A Fett Surprise That Was

Fettes Brot Live in the Vienna U4 Club

Surprise, Surprise. FM4 hosted just another FM4 Überraschungskonzert (surprise concert) in Vienna’s U4 discotheque. Fettes Brot was on the agenda for yesterday’s show and, man, that quite a majestic show. They have just finished their Strom und Drang tour and played in Linz on Wednesday (14 May), however, FM4 got them to play in Vienna to give an encore. FM4 raffled away tickets and among the winners – guess who won something valuable for his first time in his life? – was Philipp. I took Miki and Jassy (who was not on theguest listunlike Miki and me) got in anyway with using her certain “willingness” to do anything to see Fettes Brot live. Kidding. Continue reading

Continue reading

Zivi Bits Of Wisdoms

Witty bits of wisdom come in all kinds of faces (that’s my bit of wisdom for today). And xkcd.com’s comic (I already showed their way of interpreting Valentine hearts, remember?) somehow has this word wit and is hilarity-packed. The two topics depicted below are so true! Techno basically sucks (and so do Krocha kids). Second comes a GPS (Global Positioning System – not GPRS, man,…) that tries to fool you into going the wrong direction and then suddenly changing its (I took its since people would have complained if i said “her”, however, our announcment voice, can’t fight facts – right?, is female) mind.

Sensing A Generation Gap?

When having discussions about modern trends it happens to me, surprisingly more frequently than ever, that I sense somewhat of a generation gap. Everything started with the Emo-trend that was kicked off last summer. People obviously don’t really know what being emo(tional) is all about, but that’s cool. Mostly.

Now, after the mispronunciation of Emo (ay-mo instead of ee-mo – the trend’s roots are in the English speaking world, so what’s you freakin point? Or do you say Punk like poo-nk), this whole “Krocha”-trend is quite disturbing… Continue reading

Charity Here, Charity There

When the year approaches its end, several media entities try to enforce their charity programs. PHIL’s Blogging follows suit. Christmas is not just a celebration with family, no, several people take the opportunity to look around and reach out to those who can’t live in prosperity like the majority of west civilization.

Freerice.com is an organization that offers an online quiz for English vocabulary. For each word you can assign a definition or similar word, the company donates 20 grains of rice to poor people. Train your vocabulary and help to fight starvation. If you feel like that idea, try it and do something good. Tell me how many grains you “free”ed to fight poverty and hunger.Speaking of donations: Did you know that Austria donates .48 % of its income to the Official Development Aid. Here’s a list of countries, that annually donate money to developing countries. Fighting the hunger is one of the biggest issues. The cost of elimination of world wide hunger is estimated at about $195 billion a year. Only 6 countries refused to participate. Guess who that is…
