All White MC Jesus Gone Divinely Pimp

Finally. I’m so glad I found the titles of the song featured in this new and awesome Renault commercial (English version found only) called “It’s Time To Change.” Do you remember when you said that girls had fleece (is that spelled correctly)? And you’d never get a mobile? Or have kids? Multiple yes there.

The music in the background, it’s been haunting me. Following me. Exploited semi-serious damages in my brain. Had me sleepless last night (that and the super annoying stuffed nose of mine). Why do commercials do that to me?

What you’re going to see, basically, is an all white dressed Jesus impersonation of best quality that some might say competes and beats the “I will survive” Jesus gone crazy in (? it appears) New York. What a pimp version of Jesus. Love the song. Love the Jesus. Also available in quite nice remixes. My favorite: Divine (Danger Remix) by Sébastien Tellier. And yes, iTunes Store’s your friend.

Last but not least, can you believe this was the French entry for the Eurovision Song contest. Since when do I like that sort of crap?

A New Dict On The Block

Whereas English has taken over a large proportion of “the language of choice” for most blog entries, we all know that I speak both German (mother tongue) and English (as a second language). I cause a load of hits on online dictionaries pages since I can’t always stand vague interpretations by me, myself and I.

In beta.

In beta.

My “dictionary of choice” has been dict.leo.org for quite a while. Also I used to look up words on pons.de a long time ago, but I was really not enjoying the user experience.

But what do I find out now? Pons was entirely overhauled and revealed a new approach to online dictionary (compared to the sloppy thing they had before). Now,pons.eu/dict/search(in Beta status, how trendy of them) offers registered-user only suggestions and contributions, pronunciation assistance (mp3 format) and a unique display of words that groups results according to their meaning (something I definitely miss on dict.leo.org).

I can’t wait to check out the new old kid on the block* and see how it will fit my daily use with looking up words. Is it going to replace dict.leo.org? I’m undecided, but really attracted…

*Mini Lingo Bingo: The new kid on the block is a phrase to describe someone who has just appeared or is new. It is not only used for new people entering a social circle, often used in context with a company entered a new market. The german equivalent is “der/die Neue sein.” An example: Google’s Gear browser solution is the new kid on the block and will be tested really hard. – Google’s Gear Internetbrowser ist der Neue und wird hart beurteilt werden.

Hieroglyphics 101

YouTube – Two Ronnies: Hieroglyphics -Who says that hieroglyphs have to be deciphered following the translations of the Rosetta stone? What if Napoleon didn’t stumbled upon it. No, just kidding, it actually wasCaptain Pierre-François Bouchard, well it was a French man, however, I still can’t let go on the idea that Napoleon had some role in this spectacular discovery.

Lingo Bingo #10: That’s Spanischer Buh-n-howf!

Whenever an attempt to communication or action fails, people get very creative when they encounter a lack of understanding. Both German and English have a vast repertoire listing expressions ofincomprehension.

Proceed In The Face Of Utter Incomprehension -Of course, people should always follow that rule, however, we have so many ways to let others know that we just didn’t get what the heck he or she was talking about. Buh-n-howf?

My Options, All Open

Part 2 of The Ultimate College Guide

Options turn out be quite useful for pray being cornered by K9 German shepherd like questions about future usually starting with something like that: Well, so, now that you’re done with school, what cha gonna do my friend?

What cha gonna do my friend?

Today’s college guide will depict all my options, that are all open, not compulsory and merely serve as a collections of what’s possible from the point I’m at right now. Post-Matura-Identity crisis is the political correct term for this turning-with-the-winds (”orientational” state of mind.

As I laid out my associations with my dream job in last weeks edition of I’m On My Way, I haven’t quite told you about options apart from the optimistic and not so realistic approach. It sounds great to think that you’ll climb the ladder of success, end up as a CEO of a huge company and retire with a 1 billion compensation after 40 years of heart-attack-promoting years, right? Where’s The Summer Sun?

Watching people rush out of their muddy winter holes and populating all green spaces of the city kind of explains major need for the Summer sun. Have fun capturing every available sun shine.

My question today: At what place would you rather want to hang out bearing in mind that this is a photo match that wants you to pick the better picture (after the jump – click to enlarge)…

Just another #1 by Sony

Sony keeps producing cool ads ( that are so charming, relaxing and interesting in so many ways. I struggle to find words to describe it, so you better check out for yourself. Go to the French Sony webpage (I just can’t believe I just said that) and download the HD version. Telechargé Le Film is French for Download it, I assume.

If you ask me, that is a piece of art. And this time I don’t care that a commercial wants to make me buy a product. If it wasn’t for the money aspect…
