Echo Of The Sound Of Music

Seems like the hills are alive indeed. I still got an echo of the hills that supposedly singing, dancing, cheering and jumping of joy in my ears. And since the reflection is somewhat the visual equivalent to an audio echo, I am posting this little snapshot. Taken in Salzburg near University church (oh yaa, a lodd of tschurtsches in Solzburgh). More pictures to come. Plus, I’m dropping a note that I made it safely through Austria and I have to admit, it was really nice.

Now, everybody go change their desktop's wallpaper, noooow! I mean it.

Light Your Home The “Cool” Way

CFL (compactfluorescent lamp)bulbs explained in plain English. Go ahead, it saves money (CFLs have higher “life expectancy”) and the environment (use less CO2 heavy energy), what more could you possibly ask for (warm ice on a stick, maybe)?

A sexy CFL Bulb

The only thing that is really weird about this video is the number of “now that’s cool” and “this is cool” remarks done by the presenter. I love the XYZ in Plain English series. And these Flickr image results for CFL….

One final thought: Are you watching movies on VRC? Well it should be “cool” with me, if you have all your regular light bulbs dimmed or even better switched off.

Getting Into This Ikea Mood

Part 5 of The Ultimate Guide To College

Looking for design and decoration ideas has never been easier. Thanks the internet. Plus, don’t you think when you are about to (re)paint your room or when you have to think of how to make a new home cosy and warm, you don’t have to go far to find inspiration. The design, the color scheme rather comes to you. Pops up in front of you and you just go “Oh, I want it and I want it badly”. You actually have an idea of what colors, what furniture and bits and peaces (like a full HD 45 inch flat screen), and you are already well aware of how you’d love to assemble things in your new space. Do it, jump.

This green just jumped at me. It would also go along well with my "That Green" of my blog · by Josh Leo (Our First House)

Convenient Now, Not So Then

As much as we enjoy our convenient, “advanced” technologies nowadays, we shouldn’t just continue without thinking of consequences. The consequences can be huge and affect our lives. Taking a step backwards in development like giving up driving cars and other “conveniences” carrying a fully packed carbon emissions heavy rucksack will be a pain for us, who know what life looked like without coping with the hugeconsequencesthat will take action in years from now.

Drive one day less and look how much carbon monoxide you\'ll keep out of the air we breathe

Where’s The Summer Sun?

Watching people rush out of their muddy winter holes and populating all green spaces of the city kind of explains major need for the Summer sun. Have fun capturing every available sun shine.

My question today: At what place would you rather want to hang out bearing in mind that this is a photo match that wants you to pick the better picture (after the jump – click to enlarge)…

Resistance Is Futile

Facing an climate change show down people would love to think that there is something they could do to reduce the strength of the impact. According to James Lovelock, climate change expert, there is little to nothing we can do about an upcoming “Armageddon”. What a unnerving notion this is! What really made me uncomfortable when reading the Guardian weekly in my Sunday morning tradition is that Lovelock already accurately predicted what life would be like in 2000 in the 1960s.
